"Albuquerque"/ ألبوكركي
"Albuquerque" the beautiful simple city, and one of the less crowded American cities, where the welcoming cultures and great food.
The city has never been a major tourist destination because there was no huge landmark, sea or ocean, skyscrapers or movie's makers.
"Albuquerque", which some said that its name came from the Arabic language: "plum", "peach" or "apricots". The legends say that "Spaniards" were the first to plant these trees under the bright city sun.
"Albuquerque's believers tried to build the city, cultivate it and dig its rocks.
So many festivals and events raised .. And with its wonderful climate, the city became inhabited by hearts and minds of people who really love it.
As it inherited the magic of the "Land of Enchantment"!
One of the most important events that have grown up in Albuquerque is the "Balloon Fiesta", which began in 1972 as a simple celebration - just 19 balloons - celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of the oldest radio stations in the city: "Radio KKOB".
The event expanded year after year - other funny stories- to become the largest balloon festival in the world, and currently accommodates 750 participant balloons from different parts of the earth!

“ألبوكركي” المدينة الأمريكية البسيطة الجميلة، من أقل المدن الأمريكية إزدحاماً.. و فيها أبسط و أطيب الناس!
المدينة لم تكن يوماً من الوجهات السياحية الكبيرة لعدم وجود مَعلَم ضخم، بحر أو محيط، ناطحات سحاب أو صناعة سينما…
“ ألبوكركي” و التي يقال أنّ اسمها جاء من العربية: “ البرقوق” ، “ الخوخ” و في بعض الروايات اسم مفترض ل “المشمش” .. و تقول الأساطير أن “ الإسبان” كانوا أول من زرع هذه الأشجار تحت شمس المدينة الساطعة.
حاول محبوا “ ألبوكركي” أن يكبروا بها.. يعمروها.. يزرعوها و يحفروا صخورها..
و فعلاً تعددت المهرجانات و الفعاليات فيها.. و مع مناخها الرائع أصبح من يسكنها بقلبه و عقله فعلاً يحبها، و يحاول إعمارها من ناحية ما.. و كأنما ورثت عن ولاية “ نيو مكسيكو” الأم لقب أرض السحر و الافتتان “Land of Enchantment”
من أبرز الفعاليات التي نمت في “ ألبوكركي” : مهرجان المناطيد أو ما يسمى بالترجمة الحرفية من الانكليزية “ بالون فييستا”، بدأ المهرجان في عام 1972 كاحتفال بسيط - ١٩ منطاد فقط- ابتهاجاً بالعيد الخمسين لواحدة من أقدم محطات الإذاعة في المدينة “ راديو كوب” .
توسع الحدث بعدها عاماً بعد عام - و للتفاصيل حكايات أخرى- حتى أصبح أضخم مهرجان للمناطيد في العالم، و يستوعب حالياً ٧٥٠ منطاد مشارك من مختلف بقاع الأرض!
